The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting is the place where scientists, clinicians, other health care professionals, survivors, patients, and advocates gather to share and discuss the latest breakthroughs in cancer research.
We are truly grateful to Immediate Past President Philip D. Greenberg, MD, FAACR; Program Committee Chairs Keith T. Flaherty, MD, FAACR, and Christina Curtis, PhD, MSc; as well as members of the program committee, invited speakers, proffered paper presenters, attendees, and the wonderful AACR staff—all of whom made the AACR Annual Meeting 2024 a spectacular success. It is your dedication to driving progress against cancer that helps make this meeting so productive and meaningful.
The 2024 edition of the most important cancer meeting in the world featured the following highlights:
- More than 23,200 registrants (including more than 22,000 in-person registrants) from 78 countries and territories participated in the meeting
- More than 240 clinical trials were presented; this largest-ever clinical program featured 24 phase III trials, including several practice-changing studies
- A diverse program featuring nearly 730 invited speakers from 20 countries, including 10 NextGen Stars selected for podium presentations through a competitive application process
- More than 200 reporters covered the meeting, generating nearly 6,000 media clips to date in high-profile outlets such as The Associated Press, CNN, ABC News, FOX News, STAT, Reuters, HealthDay, and The Hill
- More than 6,750 people joined the Annual Meeting conversation on the social platform X/Twitter, sharing more than 28,000 posts using the #AACR24 hashtag and generating a record number of 571 million impressions
- Nearly 275 scientific sessions were live-streamed (including plenaries, major symposia, advances sessions, education sessions, methods workshops, and proffered paper sessions)
