Welcome to the final day of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2024! It has been an educational, enlightening, and inspiring week of captivating cancer science and research, and we still have several sessions to learn from and enjoy before we part ways in San Diego.

The Wednesday morning plenary session of the Annual Meeting puts artificial intelligence at the forefront: AI at the Interface: Accelerating Evidence Generation, Advancing Disparities Research, and Improving Trial Design, in Ballroom 20 at 8 a.m. PT, features a stellar lineup of AI and data science experts who will talk about AI and topics such as imaging, precision medicine, and drug development.

The last poster session is this morning at 9 a.m. PT, as well as three late-breaking research sessions. If you haven’t made it to the Exhibit Hall yet, today is your last chance. It’s open from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. PT, and it’s the best place to see the latest and greatest advances in drug development, devices, lab equipment, and more, all in one place.

For our last day of the meeting, we have 13 exciting Major Symposia and Advances In sessions, all at 10:15 a.m. PT, including:

The closing plenary session AACR Annual Meeting 2024 Highlights: Vision for the Future, will touch on some of the most important concepts presented during the Annual Meeting. Three outstanding panelists will each discuss an area of science.

  • Mikala Egeblad, PhD, Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Tumor Microenvironment, Johns Hopkins University, will discuss topics related to basic cancer science and translational research.
  • Melissa A. Simon, MD, MPH, George H. Gardner, MD, Professor of Clinical Gynecology, Northwestern Medicine, will discuss topics related to prevention, early detection, population sciences, and prevention research.
  • Ryan B. Corcoran, MD, PhD, director of the Tucker Gosnell Center for Gastrointestinal Cancers at Massachusetts General Hospital, will discuss topics related to clinical research and clinical trials.

As we participate in our closing sessions of the AACR Annual Meeting 2024, let us say what an honor and pleasure it has been to serve as the Program Committee Chairs for this year’s meeting. Thanks to all the Program Committee members for assembling an exceptional scientific program, and AACR leadership and staff for their hard work in bringing this meeting to life. Thanks, too, to the members of the AACR for their support of this organization’s meaningful mission to prevent and cure all cancers. And thanks to the city of San Diego for its hospitality.

If you missed a session or want to rewatch a session, don’t forget that all of the great scientific programming can be viewed on the virtual meeting platform by registered meeting participants through July 10, 2024.

And finally, to all of you who participated in this year’s meeting, both in person and virtually, we hope to see you next year at the AACR Annual Meeting 2025, April 25-30, in Chicago.
